Is my blackberry storm charging? no battery icon on screen?
i had been having a hard time charging my bb for a while. yesterday i went to verizon and got a new battery, because apparently my battery was "bubbled." after following the instructions from the guy at the store, who said to run it until it is dead and then charge it (he said to do this 3 times) i tried plugging it in last night, because it was about to die and it said it was charging. then i got up this morning, expecting to have a fully charged battery and the phone flashed red for about 10 secs plugged in and then nothing. i tried doing a battery pull and nothing. i was wondering if it actually charges if you cannot see anything on the screen? (ie: battery with lightning bolt) maybe its dead and needs to get enough power to even show the battery icon?
The battery icon does not appear on the screen always. However your LED light should glow yellow while the phone is charging. As a side note that method of battery charging has no effect on Lithium Ion batteries used in modern cellphones and applies more to cordless house phones that need memory. It sounds like the port where the plug plugs into is not working or your charger isn't. I'd head to a VZW corporate store.
