What is a Cloud Music Service?
Lately I have been hearing a lot about a new thing called a 'Cloud Music Service'. At first I thought that it would just be an iPod competitor, but then I read that Apple was releasing one as well. I also read that it isn't an exclusive brand thing like the Apple iPod, but that it was a general term such as mp3 player.
So I have 2 questions.
1- What is a 'Cloud Music Service'?
2- How is it different from mp3 devices such as iPods?
1: Anything that streams music, often on demand, either from a set number of tunes (Amazon) or from a library (Spotify, WiMP, and so on).
2: The one isn't stored locally; it is stored in the cloud. The other has files stored locally.
