toddler likes to snack over eating?
so my 17 month old prefers to snack on fruit, cheese,crackers,cereal,cereal bars any of his snacks over his lunch dinner or breakfast I will cook for hubby and I and serve him and he will pick at some eat then throw the rest of it on the floor or put it on the table and when I get him down he goes right to his snacks and milk!
@ k I'm not feeding him junk food! crackers and cereal such as cheerios are something a pediatrian would say for him to snack on!
and the cereal bars are something I make my self so its nothing like the stores candy bars!
Instead of offering him snacks, offer him the parts of the meal he didn't eat. You control what he is offered. And if it bothers you, don't allow him to rush off to snack after dinner. Have distinct snack times that he is offered a specific food, like apple slices at 10 am or cheese and crackers mid afternoon (perhaps after his nap).
This is typical toddler behavior. They don't like to sit, even to eat. They want to be moving. But it is you who controls the food, not him. There is no reason to allow him to snack all day long.
